I am entering a food contest, a PIE contest.

Chocolate Cherry Pie or Goodbye Arrowhead

We recently said goodbye to Lake Arrowhead.  Our little heaven sent summer getaway in the mountains by the clear lake.  Home of the old oven with its hanging thermometer that cooked things so well, it made me wonder why anyone loved the modern age.  Home of the big wooden deck shaded by pines where the whole family would lounge the day away.  Home of the ripest, cheapest cherries I’ve ever eaten by the bagful.  At $1 a pound I ate 3 pounds straight before I could cut myself of and go back to the store to buy more cherries to make this pie.
